A timely call to 911, and a prompt response from Forksfire stopped this fire from spreading beyond the boiler room.
Initial radio updates indicated a possible furnace malfunction, but conditions on arrival included odor of burning wood, not oil. Crews from the engine and truck companies quickly found the fire in the walls and were able to contain the blaze to a small area. The furnace had ignited the wall behind it and the fire consumed the insulation and 2x4's within.
"There is no such thing as a routine alarm..."
