By Capt. Chapman: Forks Firefighters extinguish a fire that consumed the first-floor bathroom of an apartment in the Lafayette Hills Apartments on George Street. Both a woman and her son were in the apartment at the time and escaped unharmed. Occupants exited the building and then called 911. Lieutenant Mellet and the Engine 2511 crew quickly knocked this fire down just as it burned through the bathroom door and started burning the contents in the bedroom. The fire was contained to the bathroom and bedroom of origin. The fire was determined to be accidental in origin.
